Motor with a Mission

Families living in the St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay area can schedule weekly, biweekly or even monthly sessions. We are here to meet the needs of each individual speller so we tailor our services and the frequency of our sessions on a client-by-client basis. This is not a one size fits all model!

As a result of different neurological make-ups, everyday tasks and activities can be extremely difficult. Your speller knows what to do, they just can’t get their bodies to do it! We call this the body-brain disconnect (apraxia). We want to teach you how to make those connections through Motor With a Mission with S2C Practitioner, Joy Schneider-Scheu.

This work can be done in person at the speller’s home, in the office or via Zoom.

Sessions are scheduled to last seventy-five (75) minutes, allowing time for questions and feedback.

Spellers want to learn the skills to live as autonomously and independently as possible.

That means we must work with the speller and their family members/caregivers. We teach family members and support staff how to successfully coach a speller’s body through multiple step tasks and activities such as:

﹒Hobbies

﹒Cleaning

﹒Household chores

﹒Cooking

﹒Walking your pet

﹒ADLs

In home or virtual sessions offered.

Working together in person is typically best, however, it doesn’t always fit your schedule. If there is inclement weather, you are away on vacation or just live too far away from us we can always support you through Zoom.
